The company

We are a national 1031 exchange investment firm. 

Our platform provides access to the marketplace of 1031 exchange properties, custom 1031 exchange properties only available to our clients, independent advice on sponsor companies, full due diligence and vetting on each 1031 exchange offering (typically 20-40 offerings) and a 1031 secondary market. 

Our team members collectively have over 115 years of real estate experience, are licensed in all 50 states, and have participated in over $21 Billion of 1031 investments.

The challenge

Our competitors were dominating the market, we were ranking for some terms, but most of our traffic was branded. We also were spending a lot on paid search that prevented us from being able to get leads without paying for them. We needed to expand on our non branded traffic and rank for terms that would help us convert and stop bleeding so much on paid ads.

The results

We rank for our best converting term, not only on the first page of a Google search results page, but in the first position. We even beat out Wikipedia for this term. We also have been able to update our pages and content significantly which has been very helpful to us. What we did to achieve the goals

We closely analyzed their current position to recommend a robust backlink, content, and optimization strategy. We added 10 new quality backlinks to the scope of work and were able to hit the first page of Google for their main term in a matter of months. We also heavily optimized the site, adding 7 new page optimizations and refreshes each month. 

Lessons learned

The client had a foundation for SEO, but had many gaps in content and technical issues preventing their page from ranking. We strategically targeted URLs with low impressions in optimization and gained lots of traffic to those under-performing pages. We learned how to strategize effectively using GSC to guide us.
